Firearms Community Mourns Loss of Paul Harrell, Who Left Behind a Final Video Message

Paul Harrell, a 58-year-old military veteran and firearms expert, left a lasting message for his fans in a posthumous YouTube video uploaded by his manager on Tuesday. The video, recorded in December 2023, began with Harrell’s somber announcement: “If you’re watching this, I’m dead.”

Harrell explained that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months prior, but despite the early detection, the disease had progressed rapidly. He acknowledged that his fans had noticed him using crutches in recent videos and clarified that he had broken his hip due to the cancer spreading to his bones, not as a result of an accident.

With his time running out, Harrell addressed concerns about the potential piracy of his content, stating that there was little that could be done to prevent it. He also anticipated that some individuals might attempt to tarnish his reputation, urging his fans to discern what to believe based on their familiarity with his character.

In his final message, Harrell reflected on his life’s work, expressing few regrets about the way he had shared his passion for firearms with the world. True to form, he ended the video with his signature sign-off: “So, as always, don’t try this at home and thanks for watching.”
