The families of the victims in a 2020 double-homicide in Hickory, North Carolina, are offering a $20,000 reward for information on the suspects involved in the cold case. The shooting occurred on May 10, 2020, when 20-year-old Xzavion Rashawn Watts and 16-year-old Damarion Isaiah Sharpe were shot in the parking lot of a convenience store on First Avenue SW in Hickory.
Watts and Sharpe had driven to the Save More Convenience Store in a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with two females after attending a cookout at a family member’s home. While the driver and another passenger went towards the store, a Black male approached the Malibu from the rear wearing a gray coat with the hood up and black pants. The suspect opened the front passenger door and fired multiple rounds from a handgun, hitting both victims before fleeing towards the rear of the store.
Sadly, Sharpe was pronounced dead at the scene by Catawba County EMS, while Watts succumbed to his injuries at Frye Regional Medical Center. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the shooter to come forward and help bring justice to the victims.
