President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are in a close race in Virginia, according to a recent survey conducted by Fabrizio Ward and Impact Research. The poll found Biden with 43% support and Trump with 42% support, within the margin of error of ± 4.4%.

Virginia has traditionally been a blue state since the election of Barack Obama in 2008, but the survey suggests that it is now a competitive “purple state” with Biden and Trump neck-and-neck. Trump has been focusing on traditionally blue states like New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Virginia in his campaign efforts.

Exit polls have shown that Trump has an advantage in some of these states, with immigration and the economy being key issues for Republican voters in Virginia. Trump recently held a large rally in New Jersey, indicating his commitment to campaigning in these states. Democrats have also been warned that Virginia could be a battleground state in the upcoming election, citing the state’s recent history of Republican dominance.
