Diddy Seeks Dismissal of Some Claims in Sexual Assault Lawsuit against Him

In a recent legal development, attorneys representing Sean “Diddy” Combs have filed a motion to dismiss certain claims in a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. The motion argues that some of the claims were not covered under the law at the time of the alleged incident in 1991. Specifically, Combs’ lawyers are seeking to have statutes such as revenge porn and human trafficking dismissed with prejudice.

The lawsuit was brought forward by Joi Dickerson-Neal, who claimed that Combs drugged her and sexually assaulted her after a date in Harlem when she was 19 years old. It is alleged that Combs recorded the assault without her knowledge and shared it with friends in the music industry. Combs has denied these allegations and accused Dickerson-Neal of exploiting laws with extended statute of limitations.

Although Combs and his legal team are seeking to have the case dismissed on legal grounds, they vehemently deny the accusations made in the lawsuit. The claims have been brought nearly three decades after the alleged misconduct, with laws pertaining to revenge porn and human trafficking not in place at the time.

The legal proceedings come amidst a federal sex trafficking investigation into Combs, with raids on his properties in Los Angeles and Miami. He has been the subject of multiple sexual abuse lawsuits, including one brought by his former protege Cassie, who alleged years of abuse and coercion. Combs has denied all allegations in the lawsuits brought against him.
