Dell Unveils XPS 13 with Intel Core Ultra 200V Processors

In a surprise move, Dell has revamped its popular XPS 13 ultraportable laptop with Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200V processors. This marks the third major update to the XPS 13 in just over a year, following the introduction of the original Core Ultra chip in April and the Snapdragon-equipped Copilot+ variant in July.

The new processors boast an impressive 48 TOPS (tera operations per second) NPU (neural processing unit) for AI tasks, as well as significantly faster performance and efficiency cores. Intel claims its new Xe2 GPU, integrated into the chips, is 32 percent faster than the previous Core Ultra, 16 percent faster than AMD’s HX 360, and a substantial 68 percent faster than Qualcomm’s 12-core X Elite chip.

Unlike the Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ XPS 13, the new Intel Core Ultra 200V processor does not suffer from app compatibility and performance issues. However, one notable drawback of the previous Intel XPS 13 remains – the new system’s memory, featuring built-in RAM, is not upgradeable.

The latest XPS 13 also boasts a notable display innovation, with Dell claiming it to be the first laptop to feature a tandem OLED display. This technology stacks two OLED panels atop each other for enhanced brightness. Additionally, the new XPS 13 is expected to deliver up to 26 hours of battery life while streaming video on its 1080p+ screen.

The XPS 13 with Intel Core Ultra 200V chips is available for pre-order today, starting at $1,400.
