Dave Grohl Takes Aim at Taylor Swift: ‘We Actually Play Live’

In a surprise jab during a Foo Fighters concert in London on Saturday, lead singer and guitarist Dave Grohl took aim at Taylor Swift, suggesting that her live performances lack the authenticity of a true rock show.

Grohl, known for his high-energy live performances, told the crowd that his band’s tour is dubbed the “Errors Tour” due to the occasional mistake, but emphasized that they are a live band that actually plays their instruments. “We like to call our tour the Errors Tour, because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live,” he said.

Grohl’s comments were met with cheers from the crowd, with the singer adding, “You guys like raw, live rock and roll music, right? You came to the right fucking place.” The jab is likely a reference to Swift’s pop-oriented style, which often features pre-recorded tracks and a focus on dance rather than live instrumentation.

Swift seemed to respond to Grohl’s comments during one of her own London concerts, taking a moment to acknowledge the musicians who play live instruments for her while she sings and dances. “Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much, and so does every one of my fellow performers,” she said.
