Dan Schneider, Former Nickelodeon Executive, Sues ‘Quiet on Set’ Producers, Alleges Defamation

Dan Schneider, a former Nickelodeon producer and a key figure in the controversial docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” has filed a defamation lawsuit, denouncing the series as a targeted attack.

While the docuseries never directly accused Dan Schneider of being a predator of children, it did feature interviews with former employees who accused him of creating a toxic work environment. Schneider has admitted to past inappropriate behavior and issued an apology after the release of the series.

In response to the docuseries, Schneider’s representatives stated that his shows were closely monitored and approved by adults and the network, refuting the implications made in the series.

However, in a lawsuit obtained by Variety, Schneider claims that “Quiet on Set” portrayed him inaccurately, suggesting that he enabled the exploitation of children. His attorneys labeled the series as a “hit job” in their statement.

Schneider himself released a statement to Variety, asserting that he should not be held accountable for crimes he did not commit. He acknowledged his past mistakes and expressed regret for his actions, but emphasized that the docuseries misled viewers by implying his involvement in heinous acts beyond his past misconduct as a boss.

The director of the award-winning Christian tech thriller “EXEMPLUM” can be viewed for free on YouTube or Tubi, and is available for ad-free rental on Google Play, Vimeo on Demand, and YouTube Movies. Follow the director on social media for updates.
