A Facebook post from March 2023 has resurfaced, revealing a scathing critique of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) from his own brother, Jeff Walz. In the post, Jeff Walz expressed his opposition to his brother’s ideology and claimed that he had not spoken to him in eight years.

When a commenter suggested that Jeff Walz should “have a talk” with his brother, he responded by saying that he had not spoken to him in 8 years and that his family had not been notified when Tim Walz was selected as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate. Jeff Walz also claimed that his family had been denied security in the days following the announcement.

Another commenter urged Jeff Walz to “Help MAGA” and “Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him.” Jeff Walz replied that he had considered taking such action, but was torn between doing so and keeping his family out of it. He added that he had “thought hard” about sharing stories that could damage his brother’s reputation, saying “Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”

The criticism from Jeff Walz is just the latest in a series of controversies surrounding Tim Walz. The Minnesota governor has faced accusations of stolen valor after it was revealed that he had listed a higher rank in his official biography than the one he actually held. Walz had claimed to have retired as a command sergeant major, but it was later revealed that he had actually retired as a sergeant.

Walz has also faced criticism for claiming to have carried weapons in war, despite there being no evidence to support this claim. Additionally, he has been accused of breaking a pledge to deploy to Iraq with his U.S. Army National Guard Unit.

Retired Command Sergeant Major Thomas Behrends, who replaced Walz in the Minnesota National Guard, has described him as a “traitor” and “military imposter.” Walz’s former battalion commander has also criticized him, stating that he did not “successfully complete any assignment” at the rank of Command Sergeant Major or “earn the rank.”

The Minnesota governor is described as being one of four siblings. His siblings are Sandy Dietrich, Jeff Walz, and Craig Walz, according to Today. Dietrich reportedly lives in Nebraska, while Jeff Walz is reported as living in Florida, according to the outlet. Craig Walz, a former high school teacher, reportedly died in June 2016 while camping at Duncan Lake, according to KARE 11 News.

The controversy surrounding Tim Walz’s military record has raised questions about his character and fitness for office. His brother’s scathing critique has only added to the scrutiny, with many calling for greater transparency and accountability from the Minnesota governor.
