Bodycam Footage Reveals Desperate Plea from Teen Abandoned by Mother

Newly released bodycam footage has shed light on a disturbing case of child abandonment in Arkansas, where a mother allegedly left her three young children without food or proper care.

On July 14, a desperate 15-year-old girl called the police, fearing for her life and the lives of her two younger brothers. “I got to say something before something else happens. We’ll end up dead somewhere,” she told the officers.

The teenager begged the police to remove her from the home, saying “If y’all don’t get me out of this house I’m running away. I’m not staying here sir. If you make me stay here you’ll have to take me to jail. I’m not saying here.”

The police investigation revealed that the children’s mother, Latisha Davis, had been gone overnight, leaving the children without food or proper care. The officers found only milk in the fridge, and the temperature in the home was over 90 degrees.

The 15-year-old girl told the police that this was not the first time her mother had left them home alone, saying “I don’t feel safe here she does this every single night.”

Davis later claimed that her car had broken down and her phone had died, but the police were not convinced. She was arrested on three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and has since bonded out on a $10,000 bond.

However, the police say that her children are no longer in her custody, and Davis is due to appear in court on August 28.
