Biden Smirks When Asked About Trump as a ‘Political Prisoner’

President Joe Biden flashed a sly, wide grin when asked by a reporter about former President Donald Trump’s claim of being a political prisoner under his administration.

The question was directed at Biden as he began to leave following his speech. Upon hearing it, Biden paused, glanced back at the reporters, and smiled broadly.

“Do you think the conviction will impact the campaign?” the reporter asked further as Biden continued to smile. He then walked away without responding, maintaining his open-mouthed grin.

Despite Trump’s vow to appeal what he called “this scam,” Biden stood by the jury’s decision.

“The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed,” Biden stated. “Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself.”

“The jury heard five weeks of evidence — five weeks. After careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict,” Biden emphasized. “They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts.”

Trump, on Friday, laid out the facts of the case and outlined the perceived corruption, to the extent allowed under the gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan. His supporters also highlighted what they believe to be a coordinated prosecution.

“You have the number three at DOJ leave the Department of Justice and hightail it to New York to work with Alvin Bragg and be the lead prosecutor on this campaign,” Trump ally Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) explained, suggesting the verdict was likely predetermined.

“Donald Trump disrupted their plans,” she added. “You cannot weaponize the government against an individual.”
