Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) stated on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Friday that he does not think President Joe Biden has experienced a “loss of support among African-Americans.”
Host Wolf Blitzer asked, “How far does President Biden’s message on democracy go when Trump is still leading Biden in several battleground state polls and has just received a significant fundraising boost following this felony conviction?”
Clyburn responded, “I know this idea of Joe Biden losing support among African-Americans is not matching what I am hearing. When I visit barbershops and churches, my Sunday gatherings do not reflect this sentiment. So, I’m not sure what’s happening with polling today, but I believe Joe Biden is in a very strong position.”
He further stated, “I think the polling is flawed. I simply don’t see any other explanation.”
