Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, criticized President Joe Biden for using sacred symbols while promoting abortion, saying it makes a mockery of the Catholic faith.
Paprocki accused Biden of mocking the sign of the cross by using it at a Florida abortion rally to promote something evil, which he called sacrilegious.
Despite identifying as Catholic, Biden made the sign of the cross while Florida Democrat Party chairperson Nikki Fried criticized abortion restrictions.
Paprocki highlighted the importance of the sign of the cross in Catholic tradition and condemned Biden for profaning it by supporting abortion.
He cited another bishop who called such actions sacrilegious and a desecration of a sacred gesture.
Paprocki also criticized Biden for publicly supporting abortion, stating that it goes against the Fifth Commandment and shows a lack of respect for the sanctity of life.
