During an interview with CNN National Security Correspondent Kylie Atwood on Friday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken addressed demonstrations on college campuses by stating that the administration listens to the American people and takes their views into account. He emphasized that while protests are a hallmark of democracy, the administration’s focus remains on serving America’s best interests, including continuing to ship weapons to Israel.

Atwood questioned whether the protests would impact the Biden administration’s policy, to which Blinken reiterated the importance of representing and reflecting the views of the American people. When asked if they would consider halting weapon shipments to Israel, Blinken affirmed that their focus is on aligning with the interests and values of the United States in their foreign policy decisions.

During the interview, Blinken acknowledged that some protesters may hold antisemitic views, but he also recognized the passion and concern that others have for issues in the Middle East.

In conclusion, Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to listening to and considering the perspectives of the American people while prioritizing the nation’s interests and values in their diplomatic approach.
