Another Democrat Flip-Flops on Border Wall in New Campaign Ad

Texas Democrat Rep. Colin Allred has sparked controversy with his latest campaign ad, which features him walking along the southern border wall, a stark contrast to his previous stance on the issue.

In the ad, which aired in July, Allred is seen strolling with law enforcement along a section of the border wall, criticizing Sen. Ted Cruz’s record on border security. This is a notable departure from his earlier claims that President Donald Trump’s border wall was “racist.”

When questioned about the apparent flip-flop, Allred’s spokesperson Josh Stewart defended the congressman’s position, stating that he is committed to finding bipartisan solutions to fix the broken immigration system and secure the border.

“Congressman Allred is focused on solutions that have the support of both parties,” Stewart said. “Ted Cruz has had 12 years in the Senate and has failed to deliver on his promises. He torpedoed bipartisan legislation that would have secured our border. Cruz only cares about himself, and Texans know he’s not interested in finding real solutions,” Stewart added.

This is not the first time a high-profile Democrat has flip-flopped on the border crisis. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, recently reversed her stance on the issue, pledging to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the southern border wall, a project she once vehemently opposed and labeled “un-American” during the Trump administration.
