Amazon has unveiled a tantalizing teaser for its highly anticipated live-action series, Like A Dragon: Yakuza, at San Diego Comic-Con. The video offers a glimpse into the world of Kamurocho, with a focus on the intricate tattooing process that adorns the iconic dragon design on Kazuma Kiryu’s back. The footage also showcases the vibrant nightlife of Kamurocho, as well as various characters from the beloved video game franchise.

In addition to the atmospheric setting, the teaser provides a glimpse into the underground fight club, a staple of the Yakuza series. The video culminates with a dramatic shot of a shirtless Kiryu preparing to enter the ring, surrounded by a cheering crowd eager to place their bets.

As previously announced, the series is described as a “crime-suspense-action” drama that delves into the life of Kazuma Kiryu, a formidable Yakuza warrior driven by a strong sense of justice, duty, and humanity. The show is set between 1995 and 2005, suggesting that it will draw inspiration from the first Yakuza game, with possible nods to the events that unfolded in Yakuza 0.

The series boasts an impressive cast, including Ryoma Takeuchi as Kiryu and Kento Kaku as his best friend and pivotal character, Nishiki. The first three episodes of Like A Dragon: Yakuza will premiere on Prime Video on October 24, followed by the next three episodes on October 31.
