Humphreys reportedly attributed the altercation to Smith, informing the police that they have a longstanding feud and that she previously obtained a protection order against her. Humphreys claimed Smith struck her first, while “Smith insisted that her childhood acquaintance instigated the fight,” the New York Post reported.
Humphreys was arrested on charges of violating an order of protection, inciting a riot, and three counts of simple assault.
Records obtained by Fox 13 Memphis indicate that a man identified as Dantavious Gilchrease was also charged following an argument outside the building, during which he allegedly threatened to shoot Humphreys’ mother, Ronda Humphreys, in the face.
“It’s really embarrassing for the county. I hope the law can get to the bottom of this and I can clear my name and find out what really happened to my son because the board won’t let me look at the video,” she said.
“I got hysterical. The police called the ambulance,” she added. “They said he had a concussion and released him.”
Several children were also charged.
