A new streaming bundle is set to launch, including Netflix, Apple TV+, and Peacock. This move comes shortly after Disney announced its own bundle with Hulu and Max. The bundle is expected to offer different tiers at various prices, catering to different preferences for commercials.
Streaming is proving challenging for Hollywood, as it moves away from the traditional cable model. Hollywood aims to replicate the cable TV model in the streaming world, where viewers are forced to pay for packages that include channels they don’t watch. This move is seen as an attempt to combat the practice of subscribing to streaming services for short periods to binge-watch content, known as “churn.”
To counter this, Hollywood may enforce bundled packages and remove content from individual streaming services to prevent binge-watching. In response, the suggestion is made to invest in building a personal collection of DVDs and Blu-rays, allowing viewers to own their entertainment choices. Additionally, there are several free streaming services available to explore.
