Representative Dean Phillips (D-MN) suggested on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” that it may be beneficial for the Democratic Party to skip the convention this year and focus on campaigning. He expressed concerns that the current political climate resembles that of 1968 and could lead to a contentious convention. Phillips also discussed President Biden’s recent actions regarding Israel and the reaction from young progressives. He emphasized the importance of course correcting to avoid further division within the party. Phillips indicated that skipping the convention and focusing on campaigning may be the best strategy for winning the next election.
