An auction was held to celebrate the legacy and birthday of former President John F. Kennedy, who would have turned 107 on May 29. The auction featured over 40 items related to Kennedy, with the highest bid going to doodles that the president made on the night before his assassination in Dallas in 1963. The doodles, written clearly in pencil on Rice Hotel stationery, sold for $34,504. Kennedy’s handwriting is highly sought after by collectors, especially examples from his last night alive. Other items sold at the auction included Kennedy’s inaugural address book and a presidential seal flag signed by Kennedy. Additionally, former President George Washington’s signed and handwritten ledger was sold for $46,279.
