Florida and Oklahoma have announced their refusal to comply with new Title IX rules proposed by the Biden administration that allow males who identify as females to access women’s spaces. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida stated, “We are not going to let Joe Biden try to inject men into women’s activities. We will not comply.” These rules, set to take effect on August 1, expand Title IX to include gender identity, allowing men who identify as women to use female-only spaces and participate in female-only sports leagues.

Florida Commissioner on Education Manny Diaz Jr. has also stated that no educational institution in the state should implement these changes. Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters has instructed school superintendents to refrain from making any policy changes based on the new regulations, citing them as illegal and unconstitutional. The Oklahoma Senate recently passed the Women’s Bill of Rights to ensure that all statutory references to women refer to a person’s biological sex.

Both Florida and Oklahoma are taking a stand against these new Title IX rules, emphasizing the importance of protecting women’s rights and upholding the law.
