Gayle King, co-anchor of CBS Mornings, is set to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition at the age of 69 this month. The surprise announcement was made during a broadcast of her morning show, where King expressed her astonishment at the news. Kate Hudson, a former fashion icon, revealed the cover featuring King, prompting a round of applause from the studio audience. King, who will soon turn 70, emphasized that she did not want any retouching done to her photos for the magazine. This unexpected opportunity was described by King as one of the highlights of her career, as she never imagined it would be possible. The 60th Anniversary issue of the SI Swimsuit will also feature cover models such as Chrissy Teigen, Kate Upton, and Hunter McGrady, along with past cover stars. Additionally, the edition will showcase a diverse array of models and athletes, including newcomers Brittany Mahomes, Lori Harvey, and Big 12 athletes.
