A Mexican man who had been deported three times is accused of operating a stash house for migrants, drugs, and ammunition in Arizona, according to witnesses. The man, Ambrocio Ruiz Angulo, faces multiple charges including conspiracy to smuggle goods, possession with intent to distribute drugs, and possession of a firearm as an illegal alien. He was previously deported in 2014, 2018, and 2023, and served prison time for drug distribution in 2018.

The investigation into Ruiz began when a woman was caught trying to transport .50-caliber ammunition to Mexico. She cooperated with authorities, leading them to Ruiz and the stash house. Surveillance operations eventually led to the arrest of Ruiz and another man, Jerry Cortes, who was found with drugs, a stolen gun, cash, and documents belonging to Ruiz.

Ruiz admitted to being the caretaker of the stash house and confessed to running narcotics and migrant smuggling operations with Cortes. The two were allegedly involved in delivering cocaine as payment for migrant guides. Ruiz is scheduled for trial on July 9, while Cortes faces drug charges. The government has filed a motion to destroy the seized contraband in connection with the case.
