FBI Exploited Security Clearances to Retaliate Against Whistleblowers

A recently released report from the inspector general, along with transcripts of an FBI official’s interview with the House Judiciary Committee, details the FBI’s practice of suspending security clearances of whistleblowers without warning. Jennifer Leigh Moore, a former executive assistant director for the FBI’s human resources branch, emphasized the importance of fairness and kindness in employee treatment but her actions tell a different story.

Despite Moore’s claims of kindness, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan raised concerns about a targeted “purge” of employees with opposing views. Moore refused to comment on agents who faced suspensions, citing ongoing security investigations. This led to a subpoena for her alleged refusal to answer questions about retaliation against whistleblowers.

Several whistleblowers, including Garret O’Boyle, Stephen Friend, George Hill, and Marcus Allen, testified about the FBI’s corruption and retaliation against those who tried to expose it. Moore, as the security program manager, admitted to being the ultimate decision-maker in suspending security clearances.

Moore explained a rise in security incident referrals by citing the FBI’s emphasis on security measures throughout the organization. She denied allegations of retaliation based on political beliefs and claimed no agents were suspended for exercising First Amendment rights related to January 6th. However, she later acknowledged actions taken against agents who did not comply with Covid vaccination orders.

The release of Moore’s transcripts coincided with a report from DOJ Inspector General Horowitz confirming the FBI’s abuse of security clearance evaluations to retaliate against whistleblowers. The report highlighted the FBI’s violation of whistleblower protection laws and the abuse of security clearance reviews. It concluded that the FBI is engaging in a purge of agents with conservative beliefs.

Public sentiment indicates a desire for accountability for the FBI’s partisan weaponization against Americans. Jordan Boyd, a staff writer at Truth Voices, covers these developments and can be followed on Twitter @jordanboydtx.
