As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the gaming experience on Windows, Microsoft has rolled out a revamped Xbox home screen for users of the Windows Xbox app. The redesigned interface, showcased in a recent blog post, seamlessly integrates the Game Pass and Microsoft Store experiences, allowing users to access their games from a single location. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for tab-hopping, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

To participate in the testing process, interested individuals can join the Xbox Insider program, which involves downloading and installing the Xbox Insider Hub and enrolling in the “PC Gaming Preview” to gain access to the new home screen. The Insider program is designed to be user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to become a beta tester.

The revamped home screen boasts a clean and organized layout, featuring curated content and discounted games in a single tab. The platform also takes into account users’ preferences, providing a personalized experience that highlights titles of interest. A notable addition to the new home screen is the “jump back in” feature, which was first tested in May and has now been integrated into the redesigned interface.

The “jump back in” feature, designed for Compact Mode users, enables seamless gameplay resumption, showcasing the nine most recently played titles and allowing users to jump back in with minimal delay. This feature serves as a convenient shortcut, making it easier for users to pick up where they left off.

Compact Mode, already enabled on Windows handheld consoles, further enhances the gaming experience by shrinking the interface and replacing tabs with icons. With the new home screen, Microsoft is encouraging users to provide feedback and report any issues, with the ultimate goal of refining the experience and delivering a more enjoyable gaming experience for all users.
