A new digital ad campaign from the parental rights organization Moms for Liberty is taking aim at the trend of boys competing against girls in school sports. The 60-second ad, titled “That’s Not Fair,” highlights the emotional impact of this phenomenon on young female athletes.
The ad features a heartwarming father-daughter relationship, showcasing their early morning training sessions and the joy of competition. However, the tone shifts when the daughter’s father learns that she had to compete against a boy in a girls’ sporting event.
The ad cuts to a scene where the father consoles his daughter after the race, with the daughter expressing her frustration and disappointment. “Dad, it’s not fair! I had to run against a boy! It’s not right,” she says.
The ad is a poignant reminder of the concerns surrounding Title IX changes implemented by the Biden administration. Moms for Liberty, which successfully halted the changes with a federal injunction earlier this year, argues that these changes undermine the rights of female athletes.
The organization, which also includes Young America’s Foundation, is comprised of parents and students who fear speaking out against the Biden administration’s changes to the definition of “sex” under Title IX. The new rule, which redefines “sex” to include gender identity and sex stereotypes, has sparked concerns about the safety and well-being of female students.
“The members of Moms for Liberty and Young America’s Foundation are parents and students in K-12 schools and colleges who fear sharing their true views—including the view that gender is not fluid, that there are only two genders based on biological sex, and that private spaces on campuses should be kept sex-segregated — in light of the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional changes to the definition of “sex” under Title IX,” Moms for Liberty announced in a press release earlier this year.
The ad concludes with a call to action, urging fathers to vote in the upcoming elections. “Dads, it matters that you show up… to vote. Vote like her dreams depend on it. Protect Girls’ Sports,” the text on the screen reads.
The ad will air in four battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, as Moms for Liberty seeks to mobilize support for its cause.
