RNC Chairman Slams Judge’s Decision on Virginia Voter Rolls

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley has come out strongly in support of Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s efforts to remove non-citizens from the state’s voter rolls. Whatley criticized a federal judge’s decision to restore the voter registration rolls of over 1,600 individuals, calling it “absolutely ridiculous.”

Speaking on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Whatley argued that Youngkin’s executive order was lawful and that the judge’s decision was an overreach of power. He pointed to the fact that other states, such as Arizona and Nevada, have successfully removed non-citizens from their voter rolls without facing similar challenges.

Whatley also expressed support for Virginia’s attorney general, Jason Miyares, who has vowed to appeal the judge’s decision. “We want the rules of the road in place before the voting starts,” Whatley said, emphasizing the importance of election integrity.

The dispute over voter rolls in Virginia is just one of several high-profile battles over election integrity that are unfolding across the country. The Republican National Committee is also confident about its chances in several battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada.

In Georgia, former Senator Kelly Loeffler reported that early voting has been “record-level” with over 2.8 million voters casting their ballots. Loeffler attributed the high turnout to the efforts of the Trump campaign and other Republicans, who have worked to convince voters that it is safe to vote early. The state’s early voting period began on October 15, and Trump is seeking to win Georgia’s Electoral College votes after narrowly losing the state to Joe Biden in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is also eyeing Virginia, where a recent poll showed Vice President Kamala Harris leading Trump by a narrow margin. While Virginia has not been won by a Republican presidential candidate since 2004, the Trump campaign sees an opportunity to break through in the state.
