A tourist in Manhattan, New York was recently stabbed near Times Square but is expected to make a full recovery after being hospitalized at Bellevue Hospital.
The incident occurred at the corner of West 43rd Street and 8th Avenue, where the 36-year-old woman was attacked around 6:15 p.m. on a Saturday.
Surveillance footage from a deli captured the suspect, identified as 62-year-old Cyril Destin, sitting on a walker before unexpectedly pulling out a knife and stabbing the victim.
Despite being a regular customer at a nearby deli, Destin has a history of arrests, including for robbery and drug-related offenses.
While some visitors to New York City may be concerned about safety, others like Ana Garcia from Spain remain undeterred, choosing not to let fear impact their visit.
Police arrested Destin shortly after the incident, and he underwent a psychiatric evaluation.
