A renewed sense of optimism has swept through the Trump campaign, with the former President expressing confidence in his chances of winning New York state. Speaking on a tele-rally on Saturday night, Trump revealed that he believes his supporters can make a significant impact in the Empire State.
Led by House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, the tele-rally reached nearly one million Trump supporters, urging them to participate in early voting. According to a source familiar with Stefanik’s efforts, the aim is to mobilize supporters and capitalize on the momentum building in New York.
Trump emphasized the importance of voter turnout, highlighting the state’s potential for growth. “We’re leading in all the swing states, and I think we’re leading potentially very big,” he said. “We’ve set a record in early voting, and many of those voters don’t typically participate in elections, which is a remarkable achievement.”
Several House representatives and candidates participated in the call, including Rep. Nick LaLota, Mike LiPetri, Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, Rep. Mike Lawler, Alison Esposito, Rep. Marc Molinaro, and Rep. Brandon Williams. Trump reiterated his goal of winning New York, citing the state’s critical issues and the GOP’s priorities.
“We can take New York,” Trump declared, “and if I take New York, we’ll be tackling SALT (state and local tax deduction) and other key issues that benefit the state’s residents.” Trump acknowledged the challenges facing New York, including a brain drain and exodus of wealthy individuals. “The richest people are leaving, resulting in hundreds of millions and billions of dollars in lost tax revenue,” he noted.
Trump pointed to recent polls showing his growing support in the state, including a New York Times/Sienna College poll that found Vice President Kamala Harris holds 66 percent support in New York City, while 27 percent back Trump. “We’re doing very well upstate, in Long Island, and certain areas, with some districts reaching 90 and 95 percent Republican support,” he said.
Trump also expressed concern about the state’s economic struggles, particularly in Manhattan. “I’ve never seen vacant stores on Madison Avenue, but now it’s almost 50 percent empty,” he said. “We need to turn things around, even if it means working with a Democrat governor or mayor.”
Trump is set to hold a historic rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, featuring a star-studded guest list, including former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tucker Carlson, Tulsi Gabbard, and others. “We’ll turn New York around, even if it takes working with Democrats,” Trump pledged. “We’ll make New York great again, and that starts now.”
