Curtis Bashaw, Republican Senate Candidate from New Jersey, Teams up with Chinese State-Owned Construction Firm Under Allegations of Corruption and Espionage

Curtis Bashaw, a Never Trump Republican from New Jersey, once partnered with a Chinese state-owned construction company that has been accused of corruption and cyber espionage. Bashaw is currently vying for the Garden State Republican nomination against Mendham Mayor Christine Serano Glassner, who has received the endorsement of former President Trump. Despite his ties to the Chinese company, Bashaw claims to have divested from his firm in 2019, before then-President Trump banned Americans from investing in companies with close ties to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Bashaw’s campaign spokesperson denied any financial gain from the partnership and accused Glassner of spreading conspiracies. In contrast, Glassner has embraced Trump’s America First agenda and pledged to be a steadfast ally to the former president in Washington. Both candidates are hoping to present themselves as the better alternative to the current political establishment in New Jersey and the Biden administration.
