Harris’s Immigration Stance a Mystery to Most Americans

0:00

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center has found that 60% of Americans believe Vice President Kamala Harris has not clearly explained her policies on illegal immigration. In contrast, only 30% of respondents said President Donald Trump has not clearly explained his plans for addressing the issue.

The poll, conducted between September 30 and October 6, surveyed 5,110 respondents and found that 38% of Americans believe Harris has clearly explained her immigration policies, while 69% say Trump has clearly explained his planned policies.

Interestingly, Harris has been more forthcoming on other issues, such as abortion. The poll found that 72% of Americans say Harris has clearly explained her abortion policies, while 60% say Trump has clearly explained his abortion-related policies.

So, why are Americans unclear about Harris’s immigration policies? One reason may be the lack of scrutiny from the establishment media. Harris has often dodged questions about immigration by referencing a misleading description of a bipartisan bill that was introduced in the Senate in January. For example, during a recent interview with CBS News, she avoided discussing the issue.

Another explanation is that Harris’s pro-migration policies are unpopular among swing voters, and she and her media allies may be trying to obscure them. Harris has repeatedly stated her support for the Senate bill, which is often described as a “tough” border bill. However, the bill actually loosens asylum law and would allow for unlimited migration into the US.

Harris’s economic plan, which was widely praised by the establishment media, assumes a continued influx of migrants into the US, which would likely lead to increased competition for jobs and lower wages. This has raised concerns among some analysts that her plan is not aligned with the interests of American workers.

The media has also been reluctant to scrutinize Harris’s immigration policies, with some outlets even going so far as to downplay her pro-migration stance. For example, the founders of Axios.com wrote that Harris and Trump “basically agree on… stronger borders and tougher immigration laws” – a claim that is not supported by the evidence.

I cover the many consequences of the nation's cheap-labor economic policy (AKA immigration) on Americans and America. Basically, the stuff that progressives won't do.
