In Surprise, Arizona, a homeowner shot and injured one of two suspected burglars around 4:00 a.m. on Monday. Both suspects were apprehended by police, with the injured suspect taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the suspects was identified as 19-year-old Kason Nelson, while the second suspect, a juvenile, remains unnamed. A neighbor of the homeowner expressed shock at the incident, describing the neighborhood as typically quiet and peaceful.

According to Surprise Police, further investigation revealed that the homeowner rents to a tenant who is familiar with the suspects. The suspects claimed they were visiting the tenant, but evidence, including a firearm and other items, suggested they had intentions of committing a burglary.

Nelson is facing several felony charges in connection with the incident. Additional updates on the case can be found on the provided links.
