Names like Allison Nicole Bishop, Sarah Virginia Brennan, and Molly Elizabeth Camp were mangled by the announcer, creating an awkward moment for the graduates. Even a student named Thomas had his name mispronounced as “Tha-moo-may.”
University officials issued an apology, attributing the errors to the way the students’ names were written on the announcer’s cards.
