In a recent appearance on CBS’s 60 Minutes, Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris revealed that she is a gun owner, specifically a Glock semi-automatic pistol. When questioned by correspondent Bill Whitaker about her surprising admission, Harris clarified that this was not a new revelation, having discussed her gun ownership previously.
Whitaker pressed for more information, asking Harris to elaborate on her firearm and the circumstances surrounding its purchase. Harris explained that her background in law enforcement had led her to acquire the Glock, which she has possessed for a considerable amount of time.
When asked if she had ever fired the gun, Harris confirmed that she had done so at a shooting range, emphasizing that it was a matter of course for her.
