Chiefs Receiver’s Mom Accused of Stealing Package from Apartment Complex

A security video has surfaced showing the mother of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rachee Rice, Marsha Kearney, allegedly stealing a package from an apartment complex.

The footage, captured on Sunday after the Chiefs’ game, shows Kearney walking with another person in the complex where she resides. As she passes by, she appears to notice something on the floor and returns with the other woman, this time heading in the opposite direction. Notably, Kearney is seen wearing a Chiefs jersey with her son’s number on it, with the words “Momma Rice” visible on the back.

According to TMZ, Kearney is seen using her foot to slide a package out of frame, but she doesn’t quite succeed. The video then shows her turning around and picking up a box from her feet before walking away. The package in question is reportedly from Urban Outfitters and contains two limited-edition Chappell Roan records.

The person who purchased the records attempted to resolve the issue with Kearney and the apartment management, but to no avail. North Richland Hills police have confirmed that a report was filed for a theft at the complex, with the reporting party stating that a package was removed from their porch. However, police have not released any names, and no arrests have been made.

The incident comes on the heels of a tough day for the Rice family. Rachee Rice suffered a serious injury during the Chiefs’ 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers when quarterback Patrick Mahomes accidentally hit him while trying to make a tackle. Initially, it was reported that Rice would miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury, but later reports have suggested that he may not be out for the season after all.
