Former Inmate Claims Diddy is Receiving Special Treatment in Prison

Former inmate Larry Levine has come forward with claims that Sean “Diddy” Combs is receiving special treatment while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn. According to Levine, Combs is being allowed to shower almost daily, which could spark jealousy among other inmates and create tension.

Combs, who is accused of sex trafficking and abuse, has been denied bail twice and will remain at MDC Brooklyn for the foreseeable future. The detention center has a reputation for being plagued by chronic understaffing, violence, and poor living conditions.

In a recent filing, Combs’ lawyers argued that the conditions at MDC are not suitable for pre-trial detention, citing a series of incidents, including the stabbing death of inmate Uriel Whyte in June. Whyte had been awaiting trial on gun charges for two years.

Another inmate, Edwin Cordero, died after being injured in a jail fight in August. Cordero’s lawyer described the conditions at MDC as “awful” and “hell on earth.” The detention center has also experienced suicides and an electrical fire in 2019 that left inmates without heat and power for days.

Judges and advocates have criticized the Bureau of Prisons for the “dangerous, barbaric conditions” at MDC, calling for improvements to be made. The Bureau of Prisons has acknowledged the challenges at MDC Brooklyn and stated that it is working to address them.

Levine’s claims of special treatment for Combs have raised concerns about the fairness and equality of treatment for all inmates at MDC. If true, the allegations could exacerbate existing tensions and create an even more volatile environment within the detention center.
