Trump: I Stand Behind Israel’s Right to Defeat Terrorism

0:00

Former President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden for his decision to withhold weapons from Israel, accusing him of setting “the world on fire.” Trump made these remarks during a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, where he referenced Biden’s comments about withholding weapons from Israel if it invaded Rafah, Hamas’s last stronghold.

Biden’s statement came after Hamas launched a barrage of rockets from Rafah towards the Kerem Shalom border crossing, through which humanitarian aid enters the Gaza Strip. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) urged residents in Rafah to evacuate before sending tanks into the area and taking control of the border crossing.

During the rally, Trump expressed his support for Israel’s fight against terrorism, criticizing Biden for his decision to withhold weapons from the country. He also highlighted the ongoing hostage situation involving American citizens held by Hamas, emphasizing the importance of standing with allies like Israel in times of crisis.

The former president’s remarks reflect a sentiment shared by many Americans, with a Pew Research Center poll showing that a majority believe Israel’s reasons for fighting against Hamas are justified. Despite differing opinions on the acceptability of Israel’s actions in the conflict, the poll underscores the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing conflict in the region.
