Trump Rules Out 2028 Presidential Bid if He Loses This Year

In a recent interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Sharyl Attkisson on “Full Measure,” former President Donald Trump revealed that he will not pursue another presidential bid in 2028 if he fails to win the upcoming election.

When asked about the possibility of running again in four years, Trump was unequivocal. “No, I don’t,” he said, dismissing the idea. “I think that will be it. I don’t see that at all.”

Trump expressed confidence in his current campaign, stating that he believes he will be successful this time around. He highlighted his experience as a “very consequential president” and emphasized his understanding of global politics and the countries that “rip us off.”

Reflecting on the 2020 election, Trump noted that losing was a blessing in disguise. “It shows how bad they were,” he said, referring to the “radical left liberal crazy philosophy” of his opponents. He added that running for president consecutively would have been easier, but the outcome has ultimately benefited him.

With the election just around the corner, Trump has faced significant challenges, including two recent assassination attempts. One attempt occurred earlier this month at his golf course, prompting Trump to joke that golf has become a “quite a dangerous sport.”

Trump’s presidential history is marked by a 2016 victory, followed by a loss to President Joe Biden in 2020. Biden has since announced that he will not seek reelection, bowing to pressure from fellow Democrats. After a debate with Trump in June, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his preferred successor.
