Former President Donald Trump is set to return to Butler, Pennsylvania, on October 5, just a month before Election Day, for a second rally in the same town where he survived a deadly assassination attempt in July.

According to three sources familiar with the campaign’s schedule, Trump’s upcoming rally is planned for exactly one month before the presidential election. The sources, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the event has not yet been officially announced to the public.

Trump’s previous rally in Butler on July 13 was marred by a violent incident, in which a gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire on the former president from a rooftop, striking him in the ear and killing former Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore. Two other rallygoers, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, were also severely injured in the attack.

Following the incident, Trump took to social media to announce his plans to return to Butler for a second rally. “I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO,” he wrote, adding, “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”

It is unclear whether the October 5 rally will be held at the same location as the previous event. Trump has since survived a second assassination attempt on September 15, when a man named Ryan Wesley Routh was caught hiding in the bushes near Trump International Golf Club with an AK-47 style rifle, allegedly waiting for Trump to come into his view while golfing. Secret Service agents intervened before Routh could fire, and he was later taken into custody after a witness provided photos of his license plate to law enforcement.
