Michah Parsons: Chiefs Benefitted from Favorable Calls in Win Over Bengals

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons shared his thoughts on the thrilling matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals, which the Chiefs won by a single point. Parsons, who had the day off after his team’s early game against the New Orleans Saints, had a front-row seat to watch the afternoon game and was not shy about sharing his opinions.

In an episode of his podcast, The Edge, Parsons acknowledged that the game was filled with “crazy” calls that went both ways, but felt that the Chiefs received more favorable treatment from the referees. “I’m not gonna lie, I think the refs did favor the Chiefs a little bit more,” Parsons said. However, he also emphasized that teams can’t rely on the officials to win games.

One play in particular caught Parsons’ attention – a 4th & 16 conversion by the Chiefs that was aided by a penalty call on the Bengals. The referees ruled that Cincinnati’s Daijahn Robinson made contact with Kansas City’s Rashee Rice too early, resulting in a crucial first down for the Chiefs. Parsons wasn’t the only one who thought the call was questionable, as many fans and pundits also disputed the decision.

However, Parsons also noted that the Bengals weren’t entirely blameless when it came to questionable plays. He pointed out that Cincinnati receiver Ja’Marr Chase was guilty of holding Kansas City’s Trent McDuffie to the ground on one play, which resulted in a penalty and points for the Bengals.

Parsons has been unapologetic about sharing his opinions on social media and on his podcast, even when it comes to criticizing other players and officials. When asked about his willingness to speak his mind, Parsons shrugged it off, saying that he’s just expressing his opinions in his free time. “I don’t think anyone really cares about what I’m doing on a Monday afternoon when I’m at home with my kids,” he said. “We all have opinions. We’re not going to agree on everything. That’s life.”
