Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert wearing a keffiyeh, a symbol of pro-Palestinian and Hamas support. The performance was hosted by Stephen Colbert, a notable supporter of President Joe Biden. Prior to Elyanna’s performance, Colbert interviewed former Biden spokesperson Jen Psaki, who praised Biden’s decision to threaten halting arms deliveries to Israel.

This was Elyanna’s first U.S. television appearance. Born and raised in Nazareth, she frequently visited Viña del Mar in Chile with her family. Last year, Elyanna made history by being the first artist to perform an entire set in Arabic at Coachella.

During her appearance on The Late Show, Elyanna sang a medley of songs, including Callin’ U (Tamally Maak) and Mama Eh, the first Arabic song to be performed on the show.
