Swiss authorities have confirmed the gruesome murder of 38-year-old Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, who was allegedly strangled to death by her husband before being dismembered and “pureed” in a blender.
The shocking crime took place in February near Basel, Switzerland, and led to the arrest of Kristina’s 41-year-old husband, identified only as “Thomas”. Despite his appeal for release, Thomas was denied and later confessed to the murder about a month after his arrest.
According to officials, the motive behind the murder may have been linked to Thomas’s “mental illness”. However, his claim of self-defense, alleging that Kristina attacked him with a knife, was disputed by medical experts who found no evidence to support this claim. Instead, they concluded that Kristina’s cause of death was strangulation.
Following the murder, Thomas allegedly used a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears to dismember Kristina’s body. The brutality of the crime has left many in shock, including former Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi, who was a friend of Kristina’s.
“I’m thinking of her two daughters,” Christa said, struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. “She was such a beautiful and kind-hearted person. It’s terrible, I’m really shocked.”
