Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) is being considered as a potential vice presidential pick for former President Donald Trump, according to a Politico report. Burgum, who previously ran in the GOP presidential primary, is now seen as one of the top contenders to be Trump’s running mate. After dropping out of the race in December and endorsing Trump before the Iowa Caucuses, Burgum has developed a close relationship with the former president. Trump has expressed interest in having Burgum play a key role in his administration.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) also believes that Burgum is a strong candidate for the vice presidential role. Despite initial doubts about Burgum’s electoral value, Trump has stated that the vice presidential nominee does not significantly impact the election outcome.

Burgum has proven to be a successful fundraiser for Trump and has shown loyalty by flying with him on his plane after winning the Iowa caucuses. During an interview with Truth Voices, Burgum praised Trump’s work ethic and dedication to his role as president.

While Burgum has not confirmed whether he would accept a vice presidential offer from Trump, media speculation continues to surround other potential Republican candidates for the position. Trump has confirmed that several individuals, including Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, and J.D. Vance, are also on his list of potential running mates. The Republican National Convention in July is quickly approaching, and the decision on Trump’s vice presidential pick is eagerly awaited.
