A 32-year-old cardiac nurse, Melissa Jubane, was found deceased in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, and a neighbor has been accused of her murder.
Jubane’s family grew concerned when she failed to show up for her shift at St. Vincent Hospital on Wednesday, prompting them to request a welfare check from the Beaverton Police Department. Upon arrival, officers spoke with apartment complex staff and initiated a search for Jubane, but she was not found at her residence in the Five Oaks area.
Jubane had recently tied the knot with her husband, Bryan Llantero, in Hawaii on August 24. However, her husband reported that he last heard from her around 6:00 a.m. on the day she was supposed to work.

The Beaverton Police Department took to social media to provide details on the case and the ongoing search for Jubane. According to reports, Jubane was a dedicated nurse who previously worked at Providence Portland Medical Center.
Imelda Llantero, Jubane’s mother-in-law, expressed her grief, saying, “I miss her… I told Bryan, ‘Please, always love her.’ And they were happy, very happy.”
A GoFundMe page established to support Jubane’s family has raised over $56,000, exceeding its initial goal of $50,000. The page describes Jubane as a loving daughter, friend, and community member who touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion.
The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with any tips related to the case. You can call 503.526.2280 to provide information.
