According to TMZ Sports, Jenkins spoke out against the jokes that mocked Hernandez, expressing her disappointment in trying to raise her children in a cruel world. Even Tom Brady himself made a joke about Hernandez during the roast, referencing the low expectations for Patriots tight ends and making light of Hernandez’s past actions.
Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe also made a distasteful joke about Hernandez during the event, further upsetting Jenkins. She emphasized that Hernandez’s daughter is still alive and affected by these jokes, urging for sensitivity towards her late father’s troubled past. Aaron Hernandez had a history of mental health issues and was convicted of murder before ultimately taking his own life in jail. In light of these circumstances, Jenkins believes that jokes about Hernandez should be off-limits, especially now that his daughter is entering young adulthood.
