Victim of NYC Rape Recounts Terrifying Ordeal at Hands of Undocumented Immigrants

A 46-year-old homeless woman has spoken out about the brutal attack she suffered at the hands of two undocumented immigrants near the Coney Island boardwalk in New York. In an interview with the New York Post, the woman described the assault as “attempted murder” rather than rape.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, recounted the terrifying ordeal, saying that her attacker, 24-year-old David Davon-Bonilla from Nicaragua, grabbed her and threw her to the ground before holding a knife to her throat. She recalled telling her attacker that “God was watching him” in an attempt to deter him.

The woman’s boyfriend, Ray Ramsammy, 34, attempted to intervene, but was struck with an object by 37-year-old Leovando Moreno from Mexico. Ramsammy managed to grab a pipe to defend himself, but was hit in the back with a brick.

Ramsammy described the chaotic scene, saying that he rushed to get help and begged bystanders to call the police. He expressed concern for his girlfriend’s well-being, saying that she is “messed up” and “really upset” after the attack.

The incident has left the woman traumatized, with Ramsammy noting that she becomes paranoid when she sees Hispanic men, fearing that she will be attacked again. The couple is still reeling from the aftermath of the assault, which has left them both physically and emotionally shaken.

Davon-Bonilla, one of the alleged attackers, had been released from jail less than two months prior to the incident, after being charged with another rape in April 2023.
