Brown Pushes Back Against Trump’s Claims About Kamala Harris

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown has disputed claims made by former President Donald Trump about a supposed helicopter ride the two shared. During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump recounted a story about an emergency landing in a helicopter with Brown, but the California Democrat has denied the incident ever occurred.

“I’ve never been on a helicopter with Trump,” Brown told the San Francisco Chronicle. While Brown did acknowledge receiving a ride on Trump’s plane in 2013, he described the former president as a friend at the time and recalled a pleasant lunch together.

Trump also made comments about Brown’s relationship with Vice President Kamala Harris, whom Brown dated in the 1990s. Brown appointed Harris to two state commissions during his tenure as mayor, leading a reporter to ask Trump if he believed the relationship had contributed to Harris’s rise to prominence. Trump claimed that Brown had spoken negatively about Harris, but Brown has denied making any disparaging comments.

“I wouldn’t say anything bad about any woman to him,” Brown said. “I would know better. It might encourage him to take a shot.”
