Virginia Removes Thousands of Noncitizens from Voter Rolls

In a stark rebuke to the mainstream media’s claims that foreign interference in US elections is a non-issue, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has revealed that over 6,300 noncitizens have been removed from the state’s voter rolls since his administration took office. This bombshell comes as Democrats and their allies in the media continue to downplay concerns about election integrity, insisting that laws already in place are sufficient to prevent foreign nationals from casting ballots.

However, critics argue that these laws are toothless without proper enforcement mechanisms, and that some Democrat-run cities have even granted noncitizens the right to vote in local elections. Despite these concerns, the media has largely dismissed worries about foreign interference as baseless and driven by partisan politics.

But the numbers tell a different story. According to data from the Virginia Department of Elections, 6,303 noncitizens were removed from the voter rolls between January 2022 and July 2024. This is a significant finding, particularly given that Virginia is one of only three states that requires individuals to provide their full Social Security number when registering to vote.

Youngkin’s administration has taken steps to address the issue, including implementing a system to share data between state agencies and remove ineligible voters from the rolls. The governor has also instructed the state’s election commissioner to provide annual confirmation that proper protocols are in place and that local registrars are trained on critical procedures.

These measures include verifying the citizenship of registrants, updating voter rolls daily, and removing individuals who are no longer eligible to vote. The governor has also directed the state DMV to expedite the sharing of data on noncitizens, including addresses and documents.

Youngkin’s executive order is a significant step towards ensuring the integrity of Virginia’s elections, but the governor acknowledges that more needs to be done. “Our election security model is designed to prevent illegal votes and guarantee legal votes are accurately counted,” he wrote. “However, security procedures can only be as strong as the state and federal law which governs voting.”
