The recent gathering included students from Lehigh University, Bryn Mawr College, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Southern California, The United States Military Academy at West Point, and Muhlenberg College. In addition to meeting with students, Emhoff will also be meeting with Holocaust survivors, including Tova Friedman, a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
While USC and Washington University have experienced pro-Palestinian protests, West Point has not been involved in such activities. It is worth noting that some prominent campuses linked to the protests were not represented at the event.
It is important to mention that West Point cadets are bound by the Universal Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and are prohibited from criticizing the president.
