According to a recent poll conducted by ABC News/Ipsos, a majority of Americans trust former President Donald Trump more than President Joe Biden when it comes to handling issues of inflation and the economy. The survey, which included 2,260 registered voters between April 25-30, found that 46 percent of respondents trust Trump on economic matters, while only 32 percent trust Biden. Similarly, 44 percent of those surveyed trust Trump to handle inflation, compared to 30 percent who trust Biden.

Additionally, the poll revealed that Americans are evenly split on whether Trump or Biden is better equipped to protect democracy, with 38 percent favoring each candidate on this issue. A significant portion (23 percent) of respondents believe that neither candidate is capable of safeguarding democracy.

It’s worth noting that Biden and Trump have consistently been neck-and-neck in polls regarding their ability to protect democracy. It remains to be seen how these findings will impact the upcoming 2024 election.
