At the Republican convention, a group of “everyday Americans” took the stage to share their personal stories of loss and suffering, blaming President Joe Biden’s policies for their tragedies. Among them were the families of Americans killed in high-profile crimes, including by illegal immigrants admitted into the country under Biden’s administration.

Anne Fundner, mother of 15-year-old Westin, who died from unknowingly consuming a drug laced with fentanyl, spoke emotionally about her son’s death. “In a moment of peer pressure, he tried something that someone gave to him, and it took my baby’s life,” she said. “We did everything right. I had those conversations with him, and fentanyl still found my son.” Fundner held Biden, Kamala Harris, and other Democrats responsible for her son’s death, saying, “I hold Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and every Democrat who supports open borders responsible for the death of my son.”

Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old Maryland woman and mother of five, was sexually assaulted and murdered last August. Her suspected killer, Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested in Oklahoma last month. Morin’s brother, Michael, said the attack was “among the most brutal and violent offenses that has ever occurred in Harford County, MD, history.” He criticized Biden and Harris for allowing illegal immigrants like Martinez-Hernandez to enter the country, saying, “My sister’s death was preventable.”

Madeline Brame, who lost her son, Army Sergeant Hason Correa, in a stabbing outside their home in New York City in 2018, spoke about the failures of the criminal justice system. She blamed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for negotiating plea deals with two of the suspects, saying, “The Democratic Party that poor minorities have been loyal to for decades, including myself, they betrayed us. They stabbed us in the back.”

Randy Sutton, a retired police lieutenant, spoke about the growing crime problem in America, citing the “endless tsunami of illegal aliens” and the lack of consequences for violent crime. He said police face a “war” under the current climate in America, where there is no accountability for criminals.
